2017 BMW International Open DFS Lineup

This week’s stop on the European Tour is the BMW International Open, which is the only European Tour event to be held in Germany. It will be played at Golfclub Munchen Eichenried, which is a course that seems to welcome the long drivers.

The PGA Tour is at the Travelers Championship and a lot of the big-name players will be there. There was the perception that the BMW International Open would be the highlight of the golf circuit this week as sometimes the big players like to take a week off after the majors. However, that’s not the case. Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and a number of the biggest names in golf will be at the Travelers Championship. However, the BMW International Open did manage to lure one of the best: Sergio Garcia. Even though the 2017 Masters champ is in the field, he didn’t make the cut for our DFS lineup. While that might be a bit of a surprise to some, here is a look at the players we did go with to make our daily fantasy lineup for this week’s EPGA Tour event.

Henrik Stenson – $11,600

Stenson didn’t have the best U.S. Open as he mised the cut, but he is a two-time winner at the BMW International Open, taking the tournament in a playoff in 2006 and then last year by three strokes. Stenson hasn’t been great on the PGA Tour, but on the European Tour, he has been money with four top-10s in his last five starts and he should anchor your DraftKings team.

Martin Kaymer – $9,700

Kaymer would love to become the first German player to win this tournament since hd did it back in 2008 when he won in a playoff. Kaymer scrapped out a T-35 at the U.S. Open, and he had a few good results earlier in the season, although he has fallen back a bit in the last couple months since a T-16 at the Masters.

Rafael Cabrera-Bello – $9,500

Cabrera-Bello was also at the U.S. Open, where he finished T-42, and he has two T-4 results at the Players Championship and the St. Jude Classic in his last four starts. In his last start on the European Tour, Cabrera-Bello finished T-5 at the Hero India Open (which is a joint event with the Asian Tour) and he finished T-2 here in 2014.

Tommy Fleetwood – $9,400

Fleetwood might be a bargain at this price after a solo fourth-place at the U.S. Open, although he did miss two cuts in a row prior to that. He also finished solo second at the Shenzhen International in his last European Tour start, and he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Fleetwood missed the cut here in 2016, but when he is on his game, he can be as good as anyone in the world, it’s just a matter of which Fleetwood shows up at this tournament.

Pablo Larrazabal – $8,700

Like Stenson, Larrazabal is a two-time winner of the BMW International Open as he won in a playoff in 2011 over countryman Sergio Garcia, and then by a stroke in 2015, coincidentally, over Stenson. Before missing the cut at the Nordea Masters, Larrazabal had three top-15 finishes in his last four starts, he finished T-3 in this tournament in 2010 and T-9 last year.

Matteo Manassero – $7,900

Manassero was due to be one of the next big things in golf, but it has never quite come off for him. He is coming off a solo 72nd-place result at the Nordeo Masters, but he finished T-3 at the Hero India Open for his lone Top-10 in 22 starts. Manassero finished a solid T-13 in the BMW International Open, so that is a sign of encouragement for him and it should be for you if you’re looking for a cheap pick to fill out your DraftKings team for the week.
