2017 The Memorial Tournament DFS Lineup

memorial tournament

The PGA Tour shifts to Dublin, Ohio and the Muirfield Village Golf Club for The Memorial tournament this week. With just two weeks to go before the US Open, a number of the top players in the world will use this event as their final tuneup before the next major tournament. We took a look at the numbers in order to find the best combination of star golfers and value sleeper picks to build a winning lineup for this week’s fantasy competitions. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings PGA fantasy competitions.

Dustin Johnson, $12,000

D.J. is by far the most expensive player on the board this week but that should be no surprise considering how dominant he has been. The World No. 1 produced a string of three straight wins and a runner-up finish before placing in the top-12 in each of his last two outings. Johnson is playing on another level right now and he should be at his best again in The Memorial tournament.

Hideki Matsuyama, $10,000

Matsuyama has been one of the most reliable players in DraftKings tournaments for some time now and we expect that to continue this week. Matsuyama is coming off a T-11th at The Masters and then a T-22nd at THE PLAYERS Championship in his last two starts. His game is perfectly suited for a strong performance at Muirfield this week. While we are committing a ton of money to our top picks in this week’s DraftKings tournaments, we fully expect them to deliver with Johnson and Matsuyama both contending for a win this weekend.

Rickie Fowler, $8,900

Fowler had a rough outing his last time out on this course. However, he is still a very capable talent that has the potential to redeem himself with a strong performance at Muirfield this week. Fowler placed T-16th or higher in each of his six starts prior to THE PLAYERS Championship and there is a good chance he continues that run this week at The Memorial.

Si Woo Kim, $6,400

After committing almost $31 million to our top three picks on the board we were forced to get creative with some strong value picks to round out our DraftKings lineup. One of those picks is Kim, whose price tag makes him a very intriguing option. Kim put himself on the map when he won THE PLAYERS Championship. While he is coming off a missed cut at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational, he has played extremely well this season and has the potential to surprise as a sleeper value pick.

Jamie Lovemark, $6,300

Lovemark isn’t exactly an elite pick but he is available for a reasonable price considering how consistent he has been so far this season. Lovemark has made the cut in nine of his 12 starts and he finished T-18th at the Byron Nelson. There is no guarantee he finishes in the top-20 this week. However, as long as he makes the cut and doesn’t falter too hard this week he should make for a strong value play in DraftKings competitions.

Nick Taylor, $6,300

Taylor will be looking to put his performance at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational behind him this week and there is reason to believe he can bounce back. Taylor finished in the top-10 in each of his other two tournaments in May, which followed a pair of top-25 finishes in the month of April. The Canadian is definitely undervalued here at just $6.4K, so it’s worth taking a chance on him in DraftKings competitions this week.
