The Favorites
Ariya Jutanugarn +400
Jutanugarn skipped her first LPGA event of the season last week so she should be well rested heading in to this week’s tournament. There is no doubt about her status as the sports betting favorite to win this event after registering five straight top-10 finishes including victories at the Kingsmill Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open in the month of May. Jutanugarn is playing at a high level than any other golfer on the LPGA Tour right now. She should be a popular bet to win once again this week.
Lexi Thompson +800
Thompson elected to take a couple of weeks off following her fifth-place finish at the U.S. Women’s Open so she should also be well rested this week. Thompson had gone six straight events with a top-10 finish but she did post back-to-back top-six results earlier in the season so perhaps she will build off her strong performance at the U.S. Women’s Open this week. At +800 odds to win outright, Thompson is definitely worth considering this week.
Next In Line
In Gee Chun +1600
Chun has put together three top-10 finishes in her last four starts and has finished outside of the top-12 only once since withdrawing from the LOTTE Championship back in April. Chun should continue to play at a high level this week as an underrated option to challenge for the outright win. Chun should be a popular betting pick to win the Meijer LPGA Classic.
Moriya Jutanugarn +1600
Speaking of good value, Moriya Jutanugarn should provide a legitimate challenge for her sister this week. Jutanugarn ranks third on the LPGA Tour’s Official Money List and also ranks third on the LPGA Tour in birdies. She should be well rested after taking a short break and that makes her an intriguing option to bet on this week.
Brooke Henderson +2000
While there is some uncertainty surrounding her status after she recorded a T-28th in her return to the LPGA Tour following a family loss, Henderson is an underrated option for this week. The defending Meijer LPGA Classic champion proved last year that she has what it takes to contend here if she is in the right mind frame. There is no guarantee that she is based on the personal situation that she is dealing with, which is why she is listed at +2000 odds. That said, Henderson is available at pretty decent odds considering she is the defending champion at this event.
Sleeper Picks
Lydia Ko +2500
Ko delivered a solid final round at the LPGA Classic to finish in the top-20 in a strong bounce back performance after finishing 49th at the U.S. Women’s Open. The former World No. 1 has shown flashes of her immense potential this season including a win at the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship in late April. A year ago, the sportsbooks wouldn’t dare list Ko at +2500 odds to win an event. At her current price tag, Ko is a excellent sleeper pick to win the Meijer LPGA Classic.
Michelle Wie +3300
Wie continued to impress with a top-10 finish at the U.S. Women’s Open in her most recent start. She has been incredibly consistent this season and should be refreshed following a couple of weeks off. Wie has recorded five top-11 finishes this season including a victory at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. She will be a good sleeper pick to contend for the win this week in Michigan.
