It was a mostly fun day on social media for Major League Baseball. Heck, even the injury to one of the game’s brightest young stars had a funny side to it. And then there was Ryan Braun and the beer. Oh yes, the beer and Ryan Braun. And some cabbage. What? Well, you just have to see it all to believe it all.
Ryan Braun went to make a catch on a deep fly ball from Pete Alonso … and then Citi Field’s, ahem, unique home-field advantage kicked in.
Pete Alonso on the fan that dropped his beer on Ryan Braun, allowing Alonso to come away with a triple:

Ryan Braun getting beer spilt all over him while trying to catch a ball then proceeding to miss it is the content you needed to see today. (Via @OverTheTopSport) pic.twitter.com/e4df7ksIJ5

Charley Kershaw is cuter than his dad, but his fastball might not quite be Major League ready yet. But definitely cuter.
We wish Vin Scully could narrate Charley Kershaw’s windup

So the Nationals won in extra innings on a walk-off, and then … smashed cabbage in the clubhouse to celebrate? Man, baseball players are weird sometimes.

Hopefully Fernando Tatis Jr. isn’t hurt badly so we can admire the majesty of the splits he did with a smile on our faces.
Tatis, Jr. is a shining example of why every baseball player should be able to do the splits and and stay very, very limber. Ouch.#baseball pic.twitter.com/Io0kilGySP

The latest, I am hearing, about Fernando Tatis, Jr. is that it is indeed the hamstring that was stressed during his split. So far he is not on the 10 day IL and is listed “day to day”. #FriarFaithful pic.twitter.com/ZHK2x5jF4L
