One of the big stories heading into Memorial Day weekend was the announcement of a TV show that will feature 24 of the fastest players in the NFL. 40 Yards of Gold will be held at the end of June, and 12 offensive players and 12 defensive players will vie to see who is the fastest player in the league. We know who 22 of the 24 entrants will be, but there is a mystery player on both sides of the ball still to be determined. Fans can vote on the seeding for the tournament here.

Tyreek Hill is the most notable name missing from the 40 Yards of Gold field. Hill is certainly one of the fastest players in the NFL, but he probably wants to stay out of the limelight after his alleged offseason indiscretions. The player nicknamed “Cheetah” may still be released by the Kansas City Chiefs before the start of the season, or he could be suspended by the NFL. At the end of April, Kansas City suspended him from all team activities.

After failing to get to the postseason in nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gerald McCoy is looking to play for a contender. McCoy is the biggest name on the free agent market after the Buccaneers released him earlier in the week, and he visited the Cleveland Browns on Friday. The six-time Pro Bowler is scheduled to meet with AFC North rival Baltimore on Tuesday, and those two teams are reportedly the frontrunners for his services.

Donovan McNabb made the Pro Bowl six times over a 13-year career in the NFL, and the former Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback is making the case that he should be in the Hall of Fame. McNabb has been eligible for induction for four years, and he has yet to make it to the final round of voting.
