Nothing lasts forever. Just don’t tell the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. Those teams have combined for a 49-0 home record this season and will both look to stay perfect when they take the floor at their respective arenas on Saturday night. The Spurs have a favorable matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers in town, but the Warriors will have a much tougher test against Oklahoma City Thunder. That clash between Oklahoma City and Golden State will be one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season. It’ll be the main event on a busy night with 10 games on the schedule. Here is some important NBA daily fantasy advice to keep in mind for Saturday night’s action.
Weak Defense To Target: Phoenix Suns
The Lakers defense should be an obvious target, but it makes more sense to go after the Phoenix Suns as they continue to slide down the Western Conference standings. Phoenix has dropped nine of its last 10 including six straight and the Suns rank 25th in the NBA with an average of 106.5 points allowed per game. The Utah Jazz should be able to capitalize on the matchup with some impressive point totals on Saturday night with a handful of potential options to target in NBA Daily Fantasy Leagues. Gordon Hayward has been Utah’s best player all season, but if you can’t afford him then consider Rodney Hood or even Raul Neto as decent sleeper options that could have very productive fantasy nights against the Suns.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Brook Lopez, Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn has plummeted down the standings over the past couple of months, but they are set to take on the only team in the Eastern Conference with fewer wins than they have recorded this season. While Bill Simmons thinks that Lopez should be shut down, he has actually put up some excellent fantasy numbers of late. Lopez has averaged 27.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game over the last week of action and he is primed to put up another solid stat line when the Nets visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Corey Brewer, Jared Dudley
The Houston Rockets have given Corey Brewer close to 30 minutes per game of late and he has rewarded them with some impressive numbers over the past week of action. Brewer has averaged 14.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.3 assists, 1.0 block and 15 three-point shots per game over that span. He has the potential to top those averages across the board with the Portland Trail Blazers set to visit.
Meanwhile, Jared Dudley’s production for the Washington Wizards has picked up of late and it could make him worth taking a chance on versus the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Dudley has averaged 9.7 points, 4.7 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 three-point shots and 1.0 steal per game over the last week of action. The Wizards are struggling right now and are looking for answers, which means they’ll lean on Dudley a little heavier as he has been playing well. He could be a good value option for those looking to take a chance on an affordable sleeper pick to fill out a lineup.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: OKC @ GS
There is absolutely no doubt about which matchup is projected to provide the highest scoring game of the night as the Warriors and Thunder rank 1-2 in the NBA in scoring this season. Believe it or not but the over-under for this game opened as high as 232 at some places, which is an incredible number. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will match up against Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in one of the most intriguing showdowns so far this year. All four players should produce outstanding stat lines for NBA daily fantasy. Curry is the best option from the Warriors while Westbrook should be the best play from the Thunder as he looks to outplay the reigning NBA MVP. Meanwhile, anybody looking to capitalize on the matchup with a pair of strong value options might want to consider Andre Iguodola from Golden State and Dion Waiters from Oklahoma City. Both players are options that could fly under the radar with so much superstar power in this high-scoring affair.
