Here is a look at the five biggest NBA Daily Fantasy Risers.
Building the optimal lineup in Daily Fantasy Leagues always comes down to finding the best value, whether it’s the top superstar players available or the bargain options that require a little more research to find. Every week, a combination of injuries and opportunity help shake things up from a player value perspective and that is certainly the case this week when it comes to a handful of players on the rise.
Greg Monroe
Milwaukee Bucks
By signing with the Milwaukee Bucks in the off season, Monroe has finally been given the opportunity to play to his potential as one of the most dominant big men in the Eastern Conference. He has delivered in a major way, including a ridiculous 17.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks over his last 10 games. Monroe has the potential to be among the best fantasy center options available every night. While his price tag in Daily Fantasy Leagues continues to climb, he is still a very strong value play that can’t be overlooked anymore.
Keep in mind that he recently suffered a Grade I MCL sprain and will be out for a week.
DeMarcus Cousins
Sacramento Kings
Cousins missed some time because of injury and there is no doubt that he has been inconsistent at times, but he has really picked up his play of late and that is why he is on this list. Cousins has averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game over the last seven days. While he is still a little more expensive than Monroe, he is definitely worth the price tag when playing at this level as a player that can do it all at the center position.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons have loved what they have seen out of the 22-year-old guard this season and they continue to give him more and more opportunities to shine. Caldwell-Pope has averaged 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.8 three-point shots per game over the his last 10 games. While the rebounds and assists are on the low side, the threes and steals are coming in at a fantastic rate. His ability to put up decent point totals while stuffing the stat sheet across the board makes him a quality bargain option whose value is on the rise.
Raymond Felton
Dallas Mavericks
Dallas has paired Felton with Deron Williams in their backcourt and while many people felt this would be an old and decrepit combo, the Mavericks have somehow made it work. As a result, Felton’s value has picked up over the past couple of weeks. Felton has averaged 12.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 three-point shots per game over the last week of action and as long as he continues to plug in quality totals across the board, he is a strong bargain option that deserves to be on this list among the top risers this week. He’s been overlooked by virtually everyone but if you’re playing daily fantasy, he’s been a fantastic value play.
Otto Porter Jr.
Washington Wizards
Porter showed flashes of his potential in last year’s playoffs and while he struggled out of the gate, the Wizards have stuck with him and he has rewarded them with his strong play. Porter has averaged 12.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.8 three-point shots while playing just over 32 minutes per game over his past 10 games. As long as he continues to put up strong totals across the board, his value will continue to rise in Daily Fantasy Leagues. Many people forget that he’s just 22 years old and in his third season as an NBA pro. He had never started more than 13 games in a season but he’s already started 23 this year. He’s a young gun who is gaining confidence by the day and will be a rising asset all season long.
