The NBA schedule for this Wednesday night is absolutely loaded with a total of 13 games on the schedule. That means daily fantasy general managers will have plenty of options to choose from when setting their lineups. The most important thing to remember is that matchups can way just as heavily as talent on nights like this and that it’s important to focus on value rather than just loading up on superstar players. Here is our in-depth look at some of the best value players on the board for Wednesday night’s action.
Eric Bledsoe – PG, Phoenix Suns
When it comes to finding value, the Suns are in an excellent spot heading in to Wednesday night’s action. They’ll be hosting the Sacramento Kings and only the Minnesota Timberwolves have allowed a higher points per games than the Kings this season. At the other end of the spectrum, the Suns offense ranks fifth in the NBA in points per game and will have an opportunity to carve up the Kings soft defense. Bledsoe has led the way for the Suns this season, averaging a team-high 17.3 points and six assists per game as well as 1.7 steals and 5.5 rebounds. Phoenix should put up some big numbers in this game and Bledsoe will lead the way.
Russell Westbrook – PG, Oklahoma City Thunder
Westbrook has always been an exception to the rule in different ways and this time, he is a more expensive investment that should pay off when the Thunder visit the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. Oklahoma City has been devastated by injuries all season but Westbrook has been in beast mode, making up for the injuries/losses of Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka. With an aging Tony Parker trying to guard him, Westbrook should have a feast on Wednesday and approach yet another triple-double.
Andrew Wiggins – SF, Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota has been torched at the defensive end of the floor all year but this is a young team with plenty of talent that has come a long way since the start of the season. Wiggins’ development in particular has been impressive as a 20-year-old that has become a lock to win Rookie of the Year honors this season. Wiggins has registered at least 20 points and seven rebounds in two of his last three games. He’s been playing better since the All-Star break as before it, he was doing 15.2 PPG, 4.3 RPG and 3.3 FT but he’s upped those numbers to 17.6, 4.4 and 4.5 free throws. Clearly, he’s making more of an effort to get to the net opposed to shooting from distance. He should be able to have his way against a Lakers defense that is right there with the Timberwolves among the worst in the NBA this season.
Paul Millsap – PF, Atlanta Hawks
Millsap just went off for a team-high 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a loss to the Spurs on Sunday and he will lead the way as the Hawks try to get back in the win column on Wednesday. Millsap has averaged a team-high 17 points and 7.9 rebounds this season. His splits show that he contributes 1.8 more points, shoots better from the field (both two’s and three’s), visits the free throw line more and averages more steals when he’s at home than on the road. The Hawks likely will have no problem beating up on an Orlando defense that will not have an answer for the big man’s size and versatility inside the paint.
DeAndre Jordan – C, Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers get a nice break in their schedule when they visit the lowly Knicks on Wednesday night and the pending free agent Jordan should have no problem torching them in the paint. Jordan is the type of big body player that can throw his weight around and he has put up some monster numbers with Blake Griffin sidelined due to injury.
In the Knicks latest outing, they gave up 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists to Zach Randolph and 21, eight and three to Marc Gasol. There’s a good chance Jordan eats them up inside too.
