I told you to add Walker Buehler to your fantasy roster last week after putting him on your watch list the week prior. All he did was go out and toss six no-hit innings at the Padres in what amounted to the Dodgers first combined no-hitter. With all the recent injuries to LA’s starting staff, you just landed a premiere starter for next to nothing, congrats! Do whatever it takes to get these six pitchers on your roster by way of trade or picking them off the waiver wire this week.
SP Trevor Cahill (Oakland A’s) – The veteran was installed on the watch list last week. I wanted to see how he fared against Houston and Baltimore first to see if he became a solid recommendation. After tossing 12 innings of eight hit and 3 ER ball with a K/BB ratio of 17:2, it’s safe to say he’s fantasy worthy in both 10 and 12 team leagues. The righty lit the league afire at the outset of last season before going down with an injury and later getting traded. Ride the lightning while it’s most menacing!
No, I wouldn't ignore Trevor Cahill's 12-strikeout performance. Showed some signs of this with the Padres last year, too. His changeup has always been a good swing-and-miss pitch, and if he's throwing it even more this year, he may be onto something.

SP Michael Soroka (Atlanta Braves) – I get that he’s only 20 years old and looks younger than your youngest son, but the composure of this kid is second to none. His fastball command is unparalleled for a pitcher this young. With Anibal Sanchez ousted to the bullpen upon his return from the DL, Soroka is going to get a longer cup of coffee in the big leagues than first expected. He gets the Marlins in their cavernous ball park this Saturday, and that has fantasy success written all over it!
#Braves No. 3 prospect Michael Soroka was 💪 in his @MLB debut:
6 IP
6 H
1 ER
0 BB
5 K

SP Nick Kingham (Pittsburgh Pirates) – The Buccos young right-hander dazzled in his MLB debut by tossing seven innings of one-hit ball at the Cardinals to go along with 9 Ks and zero walks. He followed that up with 5.1 innings of 4 ER and a 7:1 K/BB ratio at the Brew Crew to log win No. 2. Initially, Pittsburgh expected to send him right back down to the minors after his outing against St. Louis. He’s simply been too good to do that to. He’ll get either the White sox or Giants this week, and he’s a go to start in either.
What a debut! @Pirates rookie Nick Kingham takes a perfect game into the 7th, the longest perfect game bid by any starter in a MLB debut going back to 1974. (h/t @StatsBySTATS) pic.twitter.com/BYUIJEFI56

SP Domingo German (New York Yankees) – With Jordan Montgomery out for the foreseeable future, German has been given the green light within New York’s starting rotation. How could you not want anything to do with a Yankees pitcher right now after the team has gone on to win 15 of its last 16 games? Wins are huge in fantasy baseball! If this kid can continue fooling the opposition like he did against Cleveland on Sunday, JorMo might have a tough time reclaiming his spot in the rotation.
In his starting debut, Yankees RHP Domingo Germán threw 6 no-hit innings before he was pulled to start the 7th.

SP Caleb Smith (Miami Marlins) – I was skeptical about Smith’s stat line leading up to his start against Colorado. But after dominating the Rockies through seven innings and following it up with another intriguing start against the Reds, I’m all in. He’s currently the owner of a near 34 percent strikeout rate and opponents are only batting .184 against him. He enters Thursday’s home start against Atlanta having conceded 0 ER in his last two starts 12.2 innings. On top of that, he registered a 16:2 K/BB ratio. That be some tasty fantasy output mi amigos!
This doesn't just feel like a hot streak—it's a breakout. If not for a Starlin Castro error, it would've been a 3rd straight quality start for Caleb Smith. He was great yet again.

RP Corey Knebel (Milwaukee Brewers) – The Brewers closer went down with a nasty hamstring injury the first week of the season. He’s set to return at the tail end of this week. If in need of saves, I’d look to add him to your fantasy roster immediately if his previous owner decided to drop him out of the chute. Josh Hader has been awesome in his stead, but he’ll resort back to the seventh and eighth inning upon his arrival. If he’s sitting on the wire, pounce now and reap the rewards later; the kids a stud!
