Over the last three weeks, my premiere fantasy bat to snag has been Matt Adams, Jorge Soler and Gleyber Torres. Each is at least 65 percent owned right now and paying immediate dividends if you struck while the iron was hot. With a number of big time bats scuffling, you must make do with what’s available until they get back on track. Here’s six more bats to jump on and add to your respective roster by way of trade or the waiver wire.
2B Scooter Gennett (Cincinnati Reds) – I already told you to snag Jose Peraza a month ago. Now I’m going to the other side of the diamond and demanding you snag Scooter as well. Though diminutive in stature, Gennett has some major pop in his bat evidenced by the 27 home runs he launched last season. He got off to a very rocky start to his 2018 campaign, but has been tearing it up of late. He hit a home run in four consecutive games last week! He doesn’t get much play versus lefties, but if you have the roster space, get him in your fantasy lineup!

3B/1B Ryon Healy (Seattle Mariners) – Healy found himself on our watch list last week. This time around, he’s an add. Especially with Robinson Cano injured and then suspended. Over the last week, the infielder is batting .357 and getting on base at a near .400 clip. He’s hit a pair of long ball and plated 4 RBI. Of his 10 overall hits, five went for extra bases. This is a kid that’s shown glimpses of stardom in the past, but the injury bug prevented him from becoming a huge fantasy asset. I recommend riding him while he’s healthy and hot!

OF Trey Mancini (Baltimore Orioles) – I targeted Mancini in my season-long fantasy draft and was thrilled to scoop him up in the 17th round. Unfortunately, he got out to a terrible start and was then made the lead-off hitter after Chris Davis failed. Him batting lead-off made him much less attractive. With that, I dropped him. Now, I’m regretting it after he got back to ripping the cover off the ball last week to the tune of a .345 average, 3 HR and 6 RBI. If available, I’d pick him up and see if this is the beginning of him getting back to playing like he did in his rookie campaign.

C Devin Mesoraco (New York Mets) – This suggestion isn’t for the weak-hearted. Actually, it’s more for two catcher and 12-team leagues at minimum. Mesoraco was once one of the best home run hitting catchers in baseball. Unfortunately, the injury bug has wreaked havoc on his career. However, he’s now getting regular at-bats since being shipped to the Mets for Matt Harvey. I expect it to only be a matter of time until he once again becomes a serviceable fantasy asset at the catcher position. If in need of a backstop, Devin’s the one to target.
“My goal is to make the transition as easy as possible, and really try to get these guys comfortable so that they don't miss a beat.” – Devin Mesoraco talks about his adjustment in coming over to the #Mets.

1B Delino DeShields (Texas Rangers) – Delino isn’t going to hit you a ton of home runs, and he isn’t going to knock in many RBIs. What he will add to your fantasy roster is a consistent bat evidenced by his .279 batting average and .354 OBP. He also adds speed to the equation with seven stolen bases. If you’re in a five outfielder league, you could do a lot worse than having the Rangers lead-off man in the five hole. He’s owned in just under 55 percent of ESPN leagues, so it’s possible this gem is chilling all by his lonesome on the wire. If so, pick him up and dispose of dead weight like Adam Duvall, Dexter Fowler or Jackie Bradley Jr.
Delino DeShields let home runs affect him negatively in the past. That may be over – and DeShields is putting together a phenomenal offensive season. By @NewbergReporthttps://t.co/TDJllBfxDv

1B Paul Goldschmidt (Arizona Diamondbacks) – What the heck is going down in the desert? Goldy was once again expected to be a fantasy stud at the outset of the season. So far, that hasn’t come to fruition. However, the season is still in its infancy and you might just be able to snag him from a disgruntled owner for pennies on the dollar. I’d wave someone like Matt Adams or Hanley Ramirez in front of their face and see if you get a nibble. Heck, I’d package both of them to get the services of one of the leagues premiere first baseman! Goldschmidt will come around, and when he does, you’ll be thrilled you got him on the cheap.
