2018 Dell Technologies Championship Best Bets
Dustin Johnson +900
D.J. has finished outside of the top-25 in four of his eight starts at TPC Boston. That said, he has also finished T-4th here twice before and should be playing with an added sense of urgency in the second week of the FedExCup Playoffs. Johnson bounced back from a disappointing performance at the PGA Championship by finishing T-11th at the Northern Trust. After a couple of off weeks by his incredibly lofty standards, there is a good chance D.J. bounces back big time and contends for the outright win this weekend.
Justin Thomas +1000
Thomas enters this week on fire with three straight top-eight finishes and there is no reason to expect him to slow down in Boston. After struggling in his first two starts at this course, Thomas won the Dell Technologies Championship a year ago when he fired a 63-66 on the weekend. His confidence should be sky-high heading into this event, and if last year’s performance in the final two rounds is any indication he could be primed to repeat with another victory this year.
Brooks Koepka +1200
Koepka showed no signs of slowing down following his PGA Championship victory, tying for eighth at The Northern Trust. Koepka has improved in each of his three starts at TPC Boston including a top-20 finish here a year ago. After producing three consecutive top-eight finishes, Koepka should be in the mix again at the Dell Technologies Championship this weekend.
Rory McIlroy +1600
McIlroy might be the best value on the board when evaluating the top contenders for this week’s tournament. The Irishman has already won this event twice, most recently in 2016. Plus, he should be well rested and focused after taking last week off. At +1600 odds to win outright, McIlroy is an excellent value option among the betting favorites.
Jason Day +1600
Speaking of excellent value, Day has the potential to contend for the win if he can build on his strong play of late. He has three top-10 finishes including a pair of top-three results, and eight total top-25 outings in 10 starts in Boston. Riding a streak of five straight top-20’s on the PGA Tour, Day is another excellent value option to bet on at +1600 odds.
Adam Scott +2500
Looking a little further down the list of betting favorites, Scott is an intriguing pick this week at +2500 odds. He won the inaugural event at TPC Boston back in 2003 and has added five top-10’s in 11 starts at this course since that victory. After a pair of top-five finishes at the PGA Championship and The Northern Trust, Scott needs to be considered a legitimate contender to win outright.
Bryson DeChambeau +3500
DeChambeau is a bit of a wild card if you are looking for a sleeper option to win this week. After all, he is coming off an impressive win at Ridgewood and will be looking to double down in the FedEx Cup Playoffs this week. That said, it won’t be easy to win back-to-back events. However, at a +3500 price tag, we are willing to take a chance on DeChambeau as a sleeper pick this week in Boston.
Louis Oosthuizen +6000
If you are looking to take a chance on another sleeper pick at even longer odds, Oosthuizen might be the perfect option at +6000 to win outright. Oosthuizen has three top-10’s in four career starts at the Dell Technologies Championship, including a runner-up finish here in 2012. While he hasn’t looked dominant by any means of late, he has produced six straight top-30 results. Perhaps this is the week Oosthuizen finally breaks through as a sleeper pick at a tournament where he has had some success in the past.
