The PGA Tour returns to Texas this week with a trip to the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas for the AT&T Byron Nelson tournament. Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar and Sergio Garcia will headline a strong field for this week’s event. This will be the first time this event is held at the Trinity Forest Golf Club, which is important to keep in mind when evaluating the best sports betting picks on the board. It’s also worth keeping an eye on the weather forecast with thunderstorms potentially making their way in to the area over the weekend. Here is a look at the best bets to win the AT&T Byron Nelson this week.

Jordan Spieth +500
Speieth hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since last July. However, the fact that he is still listed at +500 odds to win this event outright should speak volumes about his potential this week. Spieth is from Dallas, Texas and he knows this course well. Is this the week that he finally breaks through and contends for the win? At short odds, he might not be the most popular spots betting pick on the board. That said, Spieth has the potential to win every single time he makes a start – especially in his home state. Don’t overlook Spieth as a legitimate contender this week.
Matt Kuchar +1200
Kuchar will get some consideration this week as an intriguing sports betting option to contend for the outright win. However, the reality is that Kuchar hasn’t won a tournament in more than four years. Considering his winless drought, he is definitely listed at short odds for this week. That doesn’t mean he won’t be in the mix but it seems like a stretch to bet on him to win outright. If you are willing to put some money down on Kuchar, consider betting on him to finish in the top-10 rather than taking him to win the AT&T Byron Nelson outright.
Sergio Garcia +1600
Garcia might be the best value play among the sports betting favorites for this week’s PGA event. The two-time tournament winner hasn’t exactly looked dominant of late but he is a proven winner that has the potential to absolutely shine this week. At +1600 odds, Garcia is a legitimate contender in Dallas and should be an extremely popular betting option.
Branden Grace +1800
Grace took more than a month off following the birth of his first child. He made his return at Sawgrass last week and while he disappointed with a 41st place finish he has been in excellent form so far this year so we can excuse one bad outing after some time off. Grace could be a sneaky good value option to win the AT&T Byron Nelson this week.
Adam Scott +2200
Scott hasn’t been the most consistent golfer over the past 12 months but he is still an elite talent. That talent was on display with three straight top-13 finishes including a top-11 finish at last week’s Players Championship. Additionally, Scott has done an excellent record in this state including wins at the Texas Slam in 2008, the Texas Open in 2010 and at Colonial in 2014. At +2200 odds, Scott is an value option this week.
Brandt Snedeker +5000
Snedeker hasn’t finished in the top-10 since last year’s U.S. Open. However, he is an outstanding links player that knows how to play at a high level in harsh conditions and he has the potential to shine if the weather plays a role at Trinity Forest this week. Snedeker is one of the best in the game in terms of Scrambling numbers. He should generate some interest as an under the radar play this week.
Scott Piercy +6000
Piercy is another solid value option at +6000 to win the AT&T Byron Nelson outright. He looked great in this tournament a year ago and he has the underlying numbers that make us believe he can excel here this week. Piercy ranks first on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained Approach-The-Green and he was second to Dustin Johnson at the U.S. Open in 2016. At long odds, Piercy should garner some interest.
Ryan Palmer +6600
If you are looking for an excellent sleeper option this week, Palmer might be the best option on the board at +6600 odds. Palmer knows this course well and he has shown in the past that he can excel at links courses. Coming off a top-25 finish at Sawgrass last week, Palmer could be primed for a strong outing in Dallas. At extremely long odds, you might want to consider wagering some money on Palmer this week.
