UFC TUF 26 Odds – The UFC is set to run “The Ultimate Fighter 26” finale this Friday night in Las Vegas and here we review some of the odds already at the sports books.
It is hard to believe, but the UFC’s reality show is now in it’s 26th season. This season is important in that it inaugurates the women’s 125 pound weight class. The UFC’s first women’s division was the 135 pound bantamweight division and they followed that with the 115 pound flyweight division. The men’s weight classes had a 125 pound flyweight class and the void was felt profoundly in the women’s ranks. That appears to be on the way to being fixed and for that the UFC deserves credit.
As we head into fight week, Nicco Montano awaits her opponent in the finals. Montano entered the 16 woman field rated the #14 seed and she faced and beat #3 seed Lauren Murphy in the fourth episode of the season. In episode 1o Montano took out #6 seed Montana Stewart and in episode 11 she beat #2 seed Barb Honchak. She awaits the winner of the upcoming fight between Roxanne Modaferri and Sijara Eubanks.
One women’s match that is set sees cast member Lauren Murphy face off against Brazil’s Priscila Cachoeira. Murphy is a veteran who has a 9-3 overall record but has gone 1-3 in the UFC and of course, she lost to Montano in the series. She needs a win against Cachoeira, who is making her UFC debut after an undefeated run on shows in Brazil. She comes from a team of Brazilian fighters that has produced top women in the past and with her body building and weight lifting background, she is billed as being very strong.
Middleweight action in the men’s division sees Ryan Janes facing Andrew Sanchez. Both men enter the fight looking to get a footing after losses. Sanchez started off 2-0 in the UFC but he was knocked out in his last fight this past April. Janes won his UFC debut but a two fight skid followed and he is looking to avoid a third loss in a row.
Bantamweight action among the men sees veteran Joe Soto return to take on Brett Johns. Soto walked into the UFC with a title shot as he was a late replacement to face TJ Dillashaw on just a few hours notice. He saw his record drop to 0-3 in the UFC and Soto looked to be on his way out but he has righted the ship with a three fight winning streak. Soto is facing the undefeated Brett Johns of Wales, and the 25 year old’s gaudy 14-0 record includes two wins already in the UFC. Johns may be a fighter to keep an eye on if he continues to win, as Wales is a fight hungry area of England that supports their fighters fervently.
The coaches for this season of TUF were lightweights Eddie Alvarez and Justin Garthje, and the pair are set to fight on Saturday night on the PPV portion of the UFC 218 card.
