Memphis Tigers at Navy Midshipmen Betting Preview
Navy enters this AAC game as the underdog and is currently getting 4.5 points. In order to take the favorite, moneyline gamblers would currently need to lay down $200 to win $100 back on the Tigers (-200). The Midshipmen are getting +170 moneyline odds. Should one squad catches a lucky break early on it’ll produce a nice in-game betting opportunity. Oddsmakers have placed the over/under (O/U) at 70 points.
The line originally opened at 3.5 while the game’s over/under was initially 71.5, so early action appears to be slanted to both the Tigers and the under.
The Tigers are 1-0 against the spread (ATS) and have gained 0.0 units so far in 2018. The team’s posted an O/U record of 0-0. The hapless Midshipmen have lost 6.0 units this season. They’re 0-1 ATS and own an O/U record of 1-0.
The Tigers have gone 1-0 straight up (SU) and they haven’t faced any AAC competition yet. The Midshipmen are 0-1 SU overall and are also 0-0 SU in conference play.
When these two squads faced each other a year ago, Memphis knocked off Memphis by a field goal 30-27.
The Tigers are hoping to stay undefeated after a 66-14 win over Mercer last week. The defensive unit did its part in the win, keeping the Bears to just 114 passing yards and 60 yards on the ground. Marquise Irvin had a productive day for the Bears in that one with 76 yards and a score on five catches. On the offense, the Tigers completed 28-of-39 passes for 428 yards and five touchdowns. Brady White went 22-for-28 for 358 yards and five touchdowns while Brady McBride completed six-of-10 for 70 yards. Navy just lost a 59-41 game to Hawaii. The team’s defensive secondary allowed the Rainbow Warriors to air it out for 436 yards and six touchdowns.
