NHL Picks: This week’s NHL action is highlighted by a pair of games as the New York Rangers visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday on NBC and the Chicago Blackhawks visiting the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday on NHL Network. Here is a look at both matchups and NHL predictions.

New York Rangers at Philadelphia Flyers (NBC)
This game can be seen on Friday on NBC as the network has decided to televised this matinee that begins at 1 pm Eastern. The Rangers have not played well on the road this season as they dropped four of their first six road games but the Flyers have not done much at home. New York is averaging about 2.7 goals per game and allowing 2.8 goals per contest. The Flyers are just 6-5 at home this season. They went over in seven of those eleven games. The defense has played poorly as the team is allowing 3.1 goals per game. The offense is scoring about three goals per contest.
This is the first of a home and home as the teams will meet in New York on Saturday. The Rangers have won six of the last ten meetings including 2-0 in Philly last month. The last two in the series have gone under. The Flyers have won six of the last ten at home with four of the last seven going over.

Chicago Blackhawks at Los Angeles Kings (NHL Network)
The Blackhawks boast the top defense in the league as they are allowing just two goals per game. This is a tough spot for Chicago as they are playing their third game in four days, all on the road and with no rest. They were in Colorado on Wednesday, off on Thursday and in Anaheim on Friday. The Los Angeles Kings have been really good at home this season, winning 10 of their 13 home games. Four of those games went over; six went under with three games landing on the number.
Game Notes
Both teams have excellent defenses and goaltenders but this has been a high scoring series recently with the last six going over. The teams met last season in the playoffs and it was the Kings winning in seven games on the way to winning the Stanley Cup. The Blackhawks have won six of the last ten in Los Angeles with the last five going over the NHL betting total.
