The 2018 World Cup heads towards the quarter-finals round when the final eight teams will vie for international supremacy. It’s been an incredible tournament so far filled with surprises. What are we in store for in the Final 8?
The oddsmakers at BetDSI Sportsbook have posted the odds for eight remaining teams and it’s no surprise who leads the way:
Odds To Win World Cup
Brazil +275
France +324
England +405
Croatia +440
Belgium +605
Uruguay +1550
Russia +2050
Sweden +1800
In a tournament where there have been many big favorites exiting early, Brazil has been nothing short of impressive. Aside from a draw with Switzerland to start, they have been dominant. They have won their last three games by a combined score of 6-0. They’ll face their toughest test in the quarters, though, when they take on a quality Belgium side.
France has emerged as one of the top teams after ousting Argentina in the Round of 16. They’ll next take on Uruguay, who is at +1550. Uruguay could be shorthanded with Edinson Cavani expected to miss the contest.
Russia has been one of the better stories so far as the hosts are in the quarters. Few people expect them to go the distance, though, as they are posted at +2050. to win it all.
The United Kingdom is, of course, thrilled to see England among the final eight teams. They’re fresh off a thrilling win over Columbia that was decided via penalty kicks. They are now at +405, which puts them third in line. They are on the easier side of the draw, though, as they’ll face Sweden next. While the Swedes have exceeded all expectations – especially without Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the roster – they are still considered to be one of the longest shots. Only Russia has worse odd to win as they are at +1800 to win the 2018 World Cup.
The quarter-finals get underway on Friday when Uruguay takes on France.
