Talk ‘n’ Shoot MMA Podcast

Who will CM Punk fight in his MMA debut after coming over from the WWE?

The second installment of the Talk ‘n’ Shoot MMA Podcast is here. Last week, UFC veteran Dave Strasser came out of his self-imposed seclusion and talked up a storm about the state of MMA in the midwest.   Strasser was blunt in giving his opinion about Duke Roufus and his RoufusSport academy.

For our second podcast, midwest promoter Mike Davis returns, and we welcome Sterling Entertainment Group and Driller promotions representative Jeremy Bjornberg.  Bjornberg has been in the MMA business for more than half a decade and has business dealings with Roufus.

The podcast centers around getting some insight into the way a big MMA training facility works in 2015, and then the familiar subject of CM Punk and who the former pro wrestler will debut against.  Is the UFC’s plan to get him a relative novice with a 1-0 record really the best option?

Finally we close out with a look at the March 14 title defense for RoufusSport champion Anthony Pettis as he takes on Rafael Dos Anjos.  Also on that card is Sergio Pettis, the champion’s younger brother who will be attempting to cut the weight back down to the Flyweight weight class.

With the positive feedback we received despite the poor sound quality, we will be dedicating more time to the production of this show.  This second podcast has vastly improved sound and is much more listenable.  Now, no one said it is perfect yet, but we are on our way!  Try to enjoy.  Later this week, we will analyze the more than a dozen women’s MMA fights scheduled for February with veteran MMA jack of all trades Jeff Osborne and former women’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter Tara LaRosa.
