Villanova’s Ennis Leads Newest Transfers

As is customary once off-season meetings have come and gone, coaches have been terminated or left for greener pastures and players have a chance to meet with their parents, the list of available transfers shows no signs of settling down.

New names have popped up since our last update, several of whom will be priority targets for high-major programs. We take a look at those names here.

Dylan Ennis, Villanova: Averaged 9.9 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Wildcats this year, as they won both the regular season and postseason tournament Big East titles. Leaving as a post-graduate transfer allows Ennis, who also shot better than 36-percent from deep, immediate eligibility. Ennis said he hopes to find a destination where he can play point guard full-time.

Trey Lewis, Cleveland State: Lewis poured in 16.3 points per game, while also tallying averages of 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. He has already visited Louisville, and the Cleveland native is believed to also see Xavier as a potential destination.

Anthony Collins, South Florida: After receiving a medical hardship waiver a year ago, Collins will be eligible immediately at his next destination. Collins is a rising point guard and Houston native, who could be a candidate to move back West.

Derrick Gordon, UMass: Once the Sun Belt Rookie of the Year at Western Kentucky, Gordon leaves UMass with one final season to play. Gordon is an explosive penetrator and defender, but has made just one three-point basket in the past two years. How will that translate to high-major ball?

Kethan Savage, George Washington: Yes, Savage regressed in points and field goal percentage from his freshman season to last year’s sophomore campaign. Still, a two-time double-digit scorer will always garner plenty of attention on the transfer market.
