Orlando Salido Defends His Belt Against Roman Martinez, Plus More Weekend Boxing Odds

weekend boxing odds

This coming weekend features a lot of high level boxing action on both Friday and Saturday nights, and the books already have a slew of lines up, with more to come.

Friday night sees cruiserweight action in Russia as Denis Lebedev faces Youri Kalenga with the WBA World title on the line. Also at cruiserweight, Rakhim Chakhkiev faces Valery Brudov.  Moving over to Pennsylvania and ESPN2, Banner Promotions “Boxcino Tournaments” continues with semifinal bouts in the super welterweight and heavyweight divisions.  The tournament quarterfinals took place back in February and the winners advanced.  At Super-welter, Stansyslav Skorokhod brings a big amateur background and a 9-0 record to his bout with John Thompson (15-1). Brandon Adams (16-1) faces Vito Gasparyan (15-3-5) in another fight.  The lines for the heavyweight bracket are expected later in the week.

On Saturday in Puerto Rico, the WBO super featherweight world title is on the line as Orlando Salido defends his belt against former champion Roman Martinez.  The Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn hosts the latest “Premiere Boxing Champions” event and the card features Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson in a catchweight bout featuring two world title holders.  Also on the card is a WBO middleweight world title bout between Andy Lee and Peter Quillin, plus an additional seven bouts featuring a great deal of young and up and coming talent.
