Podcast: Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather Jr Less Than A Month Away

In the latest version of the Talk ‘N Shoot MMA Podcast, our combat sports blogger Miguel Iturrate gets together with boxing heads Mike Davis of Cutthroat Entertainment and well-respected Indianapolis area boxing coach Keith Palmer.

The subject is the upcoming Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather bout on May 2, which is going to turn out to be the biggest fight of all time financially by a wide, wide margin. A seemingly endless list of players that includes Bob Arum, The Money Team, HBO and other TV distribution executives, Freddie Roach, Roger Mayweather and Jinkie Pacquiao have all come together to make the long-awaited fight happen. But in the end, when you get beyond the numbers and the spectacle of the whole thing, will the fight be worth it?

Our three man team break down the numbers and some of the other details around the fight.   The live tickets for the event come with an already  astronomical price, and the PPV is going to approach $100, so there is no doubt that the money is flowing in to both camps.

And both camps are spewing the usual rhetoric, promising a great fight and a knock out.  But what actually happens in the ring may turn out to be anything but what’s promised.  Additionally, the discussion turns to what the future holds for both men post-fight.  Though a brief discussion, this team will be bought back next month to look back at the aftermath of the massive Pacquiao-Mayweather fight as well.
