What NFL coaching changes will impact fantasy football scoring the most in 2015? Let’s take a look at the biggest moves, including John Fox going to the Chicago Bears and Rex Ryan taking over for the Buffalo Bills.
Offensive Changes
When it comes to fantasy football scoring, most people think of offense first so let’s look at the main head coaching changes that will impact fantasy football scoring in 2015.
The Chicago Bears have a new head man in John Fox and based on his history we know that Fox loves to run the ball. That should mean a great fantasy football season in 2015 for running back Matt Forte who was the fourth-best fantasy football back a year ago as he scored 231 points.
Replacing Fox in Denver is Gary Kubiak, who should be looking to throw the ball a little more than Fox did. That could bump up the fantasy football numbers for Peyton Manning in what is likely his last season. Keep and eye on the tight ends for Denver as well as Kubiak is known for using the tight ends a lot in his offense. Virgil Green and Owen Daniels could be nice pickups in fantasy football in 2015 if you miss out on Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham in the draft.

The Buffalo Bills have Rex Ryan as their new head coach and we know Ryan likes to run the ball extensively so expect a big year from LeSean McCoy who was just the 13th-best running back in fantasy football last season. And don’t expect much out of either Matt Cassel or E.J. Manuel at quarterback with Ryan as head coach.
Todd Bowles takes over for the Jets and he is a defensive oriented coach so the Jets should be a run-first team which means Chris Ivory could have a very good fantasy football season. He had just 124 points last season which ranked him just inside the Top 20 among running backs in fantasy football.
It is hard to know what to expect from Jack Del Rio in Oakland or Jim Tomsula in San Francisco although both are defensive-first coaches.
Defensive Changes
Although defensive changes don’t get a ton of publicity it is worth noting that Ryan will have a big influence on the Buffalo Bills so their defense could be among the best in 2015.
James Bettcher replaces Bowles as the defensive coordinator in Arizona so the Cardinals defense may slip a bit.
Vic Fangio takes over in Chicago as their defensive coordinator but the Bears defense probably still won’t be worth drafting.
Wade Phillips is the new defensive coordinator in Denver so keep an eye on the Broncos defense as a sleeper in 2015.
Steve Spagnuolo is the new defensive coordinator for the Giants so they may be improved. The same can be said about the Raiders who now have Ken Norton Jr. as their head man.
Keith Butler takes over for Dick Lebeau in Pittsburgh while Lebeau goes to Tennessee. It is likely neither the Steelers nor the Titans defense will be worth drafting.
The Seahawks have a new defensive coordinator in Kris Richard but their defense should still be among the top selected in fantasy football in 2015.
