Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast: Previewing The ADCC 2015 Submission Wrestling World Championships

The Abu Dhabi Combat Club’s Submission Wrestling World Championships have been announced for Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 28th, 29th and 30th.  Already announced for the event are three very special superfights featuring some of the biggest names in ADCC history.

In the classic matches, former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes takes on multiple time ADCC Champion Renzo Gracie, and ADCC legend Mario Sperry facing former Carlson Gracie Team teammate Ricardo Liborio.  All four men are returning to the ADCC Submission Fighting format, as all of them have competed in the world championship in the early, historical events of ADCC.  Sperry won the first ADCC absolute tournament back in 1998 and he won the first Superfight in 1999 when he defeated Japan’s Enson Inoue.

But the present of ADCC is current superfight champion Andre Galvao, who must face 2013 Absolute tournament winner “Cyborg” Abregu in the event’s signature fight.  It is a meeting of probably the top two active, competing grappling and brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts on the planet.  The single elimination, 20-minute fight comes with a prize of $50,000 attached to it, making it among the richest prizes in Submission Fighting today.

Our “polka master” Miguel Iturrate invites Carlos Diaz of American Top Team to the Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast to discuss the upcoming super-fights already announced for the ADCC 2015.  Carlos Diaz is the head instructor of the American Top Team’s Indianapolis facility and he has served with the Abu Dhabi Combat Club as a judge and referee.
