Running Down The Main Card Odds For UFC Fight Night: Miocic vs Hunt

This weekend the UFC hits Australia with a Fight Night card that is headlined by the heavyweight fight between veteran Mark Hunt and Stipe Miocic.  The fights are May 10 starting local time in Australia, and they will start late Saturday night on the east coast.

As can be expected, the card features a lot of Australian talent throughout, and most of them are in relatively competitive matches, as there are no obscene four-figure lines on this card like sometimes happens with the UFC.  Hunt is from New Zealand, but with his kickboxing and MMA resume built largely in Asia, he is a fitting draw to headline.  He is coming off a loss to Fabricio Werdum in what was a main event shot at the heavyweight title in Mexico City, so this match at home has a feel good sense about it for Hunt.

But in Miocic, he is getting a fighter who has his back to the wall.  Miocic has had two positive runs in the UFC that have left him on the brink of a top-five ranking, but he lost fights that de-railed his progress.  In his last outing, he fell in what was a step up fight, losing to former champion Junior Dos Santos. Losing a second fight in a row here would mean the end of Miocic’s title shot aspirations for a long time, as it takes time to recover from a two fight losing streak.

Here in the latest blog, we review the odds for the fights on the main card of the UFC Fight Night 65 “Miocic vs Hunt”.
