Tom Brady Comments on DeflateGate. Kind of.

Brady arrives at Salem State in the Brady-Copter.

Tom Brady took the time out of his busy schedule of sending clandestine texts to the New England Patriots janitorial staff Thursday to make an appearance at Salem State University in Salem, Mass. to take a few under-handed, slow-pitch softball questions from sportscaster Jim Gray.

Brady literally choppered in to the event in a helicopter, because he’s important and can’t be trusted around vehicles with inflatable tires.

When asked if he thought getting busted cheating has tarnished the Super Bowl victory his team enjoyed over the Seattle Seahawks in February, Brady said, “Absolutely not. We earned everything we got and achieved as a team and I am proud of that. And so are our fans.”

Gray did put a little zip on one of the shuttlecocks he arced towards Brady, when he asked about the DeflateGate report released Wednesday that makes clear the fact that Brady was the architect of the entire deflated football fiasco.

“I don’t really have any reaction,” Brady said. “It’s only been 30 hours. I’ve not had much time to digest it. When I do, I will be sure to let you know how I feel about it. And everyone else.”

Fun fact: With 30 hours to work with New England Patriots locker room guy Jim McNally could deflate 1,200 footballs.

Former players, media and NFL fans have all been calling for Brady to come clean since the report was released and other than his agent Donald Yee throwing fuel on the fire, he’s yet to fess up to the crime. Everyone outside of New England knows he’s a cheater and a liar and, frankly, it’s hurt his feelings.

“As a human, you care about what people think,” Brady said. “I think also as a public figure, you learn not everyone is going to like you. Good, bad or indifferent, there are a lot of people who don’t like Tom Brady, and I’m OK with that.”

And if he isn’t, he should have a plenty of time to mull it over while sitting on his couch watching football this fall.
