The UFC’s Fight Night 66 this weekend is headlined by the sensational featherweight bout between top contenders Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber. Edgar has won three fights in a row since losing to Jose Aldo in a featherweight title bout, and a forth win in a row makes him the likely number one contender for whoever is champion. Faber is returning to the weight class after a stint at bantamweight did not yield him a title in two title fights.
The middleweights are in focus on the main card as Gegard Mousasi attempts to gain some momentum with a second win in a row for the first time in his UFC careers when he faces tough Costas Philippou. Now, Philippou snapped a two-fight losing streak in his last outing when he defeated Lorenz Larkin, but he will have been off for a year by the time he enters this fight so if Philippou is improved remains to be seen. He will need to improve to beat Mousasi, who is looking to make a statement with a fast win in this one.
Veteran Mark Munoz returns to the UFC for what might be his last fight as he has hinted at retirement. He gets massive 6 ft. 6 in. middleweight Luke Barnatt of England. Barnatt started off 3-0 in the UFC but he has dropped two fights in a row and is in desperate need of a win.
Munoz has lost four out of five, so he is just looking to go out with a win, and even if he does want to keep fighting, he is gonig to need a win for the UFC to consider bringing him back since losing 4 in a row and 5 of 6 is usually a reason for a cut from the UFC roster.
