CFL Predictions – British Columbia Lions need bounce back win at Montreal Alouettes on Friday

CFL Predictions:  The British Columbia Lions started the season as the favorites to win the Grey Cup but they did not play well in their opening game against the Edmonton Eskimos. The team will be looking for a big bounce back win on Friday as they visit the Montreal Alouettes.  Here is a look at the game and CFL predictions.

Lulay Out for at least Six Games

The British Columbia Lions will be without starting quarterback Travis Lulay for at least six games as the team played him in the six-game injury list.  That means it will be up to Kevin Glenn to lead the team. He started well with a couple of TD passes in the first quarter but he threw four interceptions in the loss at home to the Edmonton Eskimos last week. “I didn’t play a good game,” said Glenn. “We turned the ball over, I turned the ball over and that’s something we can’t do and expect to win.”

Pathetic Montreal Alouettes Offense

It was ugly last week for the Montreal Alouettes as they were routed 29-8 by the Calgary Stampeders. It was the worst offensive output for the Montreal Alouettes since a 43-1 loss to the British Columbia Lions in 2011.  The Montreal Alouettes didn’t score a TD until the last play of the game. Quarterback Troy Smith did nothing and did not look like the player who led the team into the playoffs a year ago.  The team played very poorly all the way around.  The team has quarterbacks coach Ryan Dinwiddie calling the plays on offense and he simply seems overwhelmed in his role as offensive coordinator.

Game Notes

The Montreal Alouettes have won six of the last ten in this series but the British Columbia Lions are 7-3 ATS.  Three of the last four have gone over the total.  The Montreal Alouettes have won 8 of the last 10 at home in this series with the last five going over.

CFL Predictions

I don’t see the Montreal Aloulettes turning things around anytime soon so I will take the British Columbia Lions to win this one.
