Boxing Odds: Callum Smith vs Christopher Rebrasse Duke It Out In Liverpool

Promoter Ed Hearn has a plan in the super middleweight division and it all comes together this Friday night at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.  In the main event, Callum Smith, an undefeated fighter from Liverpool, will be facing Christopher Rebrasse of France for the vacant WBC Silver title.

The the co-main event sees Rocky Fielding (20-0), another local fighter, face veteran Brian Vera for the vacant WBC International title.

The best result for Hearn would be for Fielding and Smith to both score wins, as he has the two local fighters set to face each other on September 26 for the vacant British Boxing Board of Control title at super middleweight. Rebrasse and Vera will likely have other plans, but both foreigners are coming in as strong underdogs to the local fighters.

The card is bolstered by the appearance of two British veterans who are in tune-up type of bouts as both Tony Bellew (23-2-1) and Martin Murray (29-2-1) are on the card.  Bellew is facing veteran Ivica Bacurin in a ten-round bout, and this is his first fight since last November, where he won an emotional split decision victory over rival Nathan Cleverly.

Back in April of 2013, Murray experienced the first loss of his career to Sergio Martinez, and he returned to the ring after the loss to a tune-up eight rounder.  Now, coming off a loss to Gennady Golovkin this past September, Murray also returns with an eight-rounder as he faces George Beroshvili.
