There are six games on the slate for Saturday night’s MLS schedule on this rivalry week, so there will be plenty of different looks in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. Finding the perfect combination once again comes down to matching star players with some strong value plays and we have once again found the optimal balance between them this week. Here is a look at the best lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings MLS Daily Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Chris Konopka, Toronto
Salary: $5,000
Toronto is coming off a tough 2-0 loss to New York City FC in which David Villa scored twice on Konopka but he didn’t have much of a chance on either goal. He has been excellent overall this season, so we’ll keep him in our lineup. TFC should bounce back at home against a DC United team that could suffer a letdown after a huge win last week and that makes Konopka a good fit at just $5K.
D: Ike Opara, Sporting KC
Salary: $3,300
Opara has been very consistent for Sporting Kansas City this season and yet he is still available at just over $3K. Sporting KC has a favorable matchup hosting Colorado this weekend that is dead-last in the MLS standings. More importantly, Colorado has scored the fewest goals in the league (12) and that makes Opara a very strong value play.
D: Jeremy Hall, New England
Salary: $3,300
The Revolution are coming off a tough loss to DC United but they are back at home looking to bounce back with a favorable matchup against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Hall is available for the same price as Opara, so it makes sense to plug him in to this spot.
M: Javier Morales, Real Salt Lake
Salary: $8,400
After saving our money with some value plays at the two defender positions we can afford to spend a little more in the midfield. We’ll go with Morales, who is one of the best options on the board regardless of position this week. Morales has consistently ranked among the best midfielders in the MLS and the fact that he is still available at such an excellent price makes him a strong play here.
M: Cristian Maidana, Philadelphia
Salary: $6,400
The Union are struggling to avoid the bottom of the Eastern Conference table but the Montreal Impact haven’t been very good on the road this season where they have a minus-3 goal differential. Maidana has been pretty good for Philadelphia. The favorable matchup combined with the fact that he is available for under $7K makes Maidana a strong play in this weekend’s Daily Fantasy Leagues.
F: Sebastian Giovinco, Toronto FC
Salary: $10,800
Giovinco has been stellar for Toronto in his first year with the club and while he was frustrated in last week’s shutout loss to New York City FC, he still finished with three shots on target and five fouls drawn. Giovinco will get plenty of opportunities to find the score sheet this week and with a tough DC United team in town TFC will need its best player to step up and produce at home.
F: Dom Dwyer, Sporting KC
Salary: $8,900
Dwyer is a solid second forward option for this week because of his role with Sporting KC, a favorable matchup against Colorado and his relatively decent price tag at just under $9K. We still need to have enough money left over for a decent FLEX play and Dwyer provides us with a chance for elite production without breaking the bank.
FLEX: Steven Beitashour, Vancouver
Salary: $3,900
Finding a capable FLEX play with under $4K remaining to spend isn’t easy but of the available options there is no doubt that Beitashour is the strongest. Vancouver will be in tough on the road against New England but Beitashour played a full 90 minutes and was solid in last week’s 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls. He has the strongest potential of the players we can afford with our remaining salary.
