We take a look at some of the fallout Bellator has experienced from the much criticized Ken Shamrock versus Kimbo Slice main event that just went down.
Bellator was in the news for other reasons this week as well, some of it good news and some of it bad. On the bad side, the PED plague has struck again as former Bellator Middleweight Champion Alexander Shlemenko was issued a three-year ban by the California State Athletic Commission for steroid use.
On the more positive side, we look ahead to Bellator 139 this coming weekend, as well as take the first look at what Bellator has cooking for September. In the works is a cross-promotion event with kickboxing outfit “Glory” that will feature light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary taking on the challenge of Tito Ortiz. Bellator also announced a proposed all fights in one day tournament involving Light Heavyweights King Mo, Linton Vassell, Phil Davis and Emanuel Newton with the winner likely receiving the next title shot in the weight class.
Here is our previous podcast covering the build-up to the Bellator 138 “Unfinished Business” card that took place in St Louis this past June 19th.
Take a listen here on our latest Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast where we get more into the state of Bellator now that this Kimbo Slice vs Ken Shamrock business is finished.
