There is not a single other prospect in the country that has captivated the attention of college scouts this summer like Utah’s Frank Jackson, as evidenced by his appearance at No. 10 on the updated Rivals150 for the class of 2016.
With his ability to score from all three levels, distribute the ball, and play stifling defense on the other end, Jackson has cemented himself as one of the top few point guards in the country. Jackson was only a regionally familiar name as recently as six months ago, and he’s now officially on the national radar.
As we discussed a few months ago, one of the big decisions facing Jackson right now is whether or not he will head on his LDS mission before or after college.
There are a variety of reasons why he would or would not delay his college enrollment until the 2018 class, and it doesn’t look like any of the top programs that are pursuing his commitment mind one way or another.
From Duke to Arizona and Stanford, schools have made Utah’s top prospect a priority. Something everyone is wondering, though, is whether or not Jackson’s decision on his mission will point him towards the Utes, as he was already once a BYU commit.
While he is not a Utah native, the in-state schools are certainly more familiar with waiting for prospects in this case than programs like Duke.
According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, Duke and Stanford lead for Jackson, with the Utes coming in a distant third.
