The Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast is back with the weekly State of MMA rundown. The hot topic this week is the UFC on FOX 16 event held last weekend in Chicago and this weekend’s upcoming UFC 190 event in Brazil. The Chicago event saw UFC Bantamweight titlist TJ Dillashaw dominate former champion Renan Barao en route to a 4th round stoppage, while the UFC 190 pay-per-view event will be headlined by women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey as she defends her title against the challenge of Bethe Correia.
Last weekend also saw top women’s contender Miesha Tate pull of her fourth win in a row against Jessica Eye to set up a potential trilogy with Rousey. The UFC 190 card in Brazil also features a women’s strawweight fight on the main card to open the PPV, as Jessica Aguilar faces off against Claudia Gadelha.
Aguilar has long been considered one of the top strawweight women in the world, and she comes with a long winning streak and as the last holder of the World Series of Fighting Strawweight title. In Gadelha, she is facing a fighter who is 1-1 in the UFC but her loss is a split decision to current strawweight queen Joanna Jedrezjczyk, so Aguilar is not getting an easy greeting as she comes in the UFC door.
