Leading up to the college basketball season, GetMoreSports will be ranking the top 50 players in the country for the 2015-2016 season. 50. Brice Johnson, Power Forward, Senior, North Carolina Tar Heels

While the Tar Heels, as a whole, weren’t particularly impressive coming down the stretch of last season–they finished just 6-4 in their last ten games before making a quick run to the Sweet 16–Brice Johnson was indeed a bright spot. Over the final two months of the season, Johnson averaged right around 15 points per game, while also becoming much more active in the rebounding battles that helped North Carolina become the nation’s best team at cleaning up the glass.

Now, despite his coming out party, Johnson still has a tendency to disappear. Sprinkled in those final two months were games where he finished with the following totals: two points (twice), four points, seven points (twice), nine points.

A player of Johnson’s caliber must be more assertive and consistent, and those are the only two things keeping him from being much higher on this list. He’ll be a major contributing factor to a UNC team that’s expected to challenge for the national title, and if they do end up fulfilling those expectations, he will be a large reason why.
