Baseball Predictions – High Scoring Game Expected on Tuesday as Boston Red Sox visit Toronto Blue Jays

Baseball Betting:  The Boston Red Sox visit the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday in what should be a high scoring contest.  The pitching matchup has Jake Peavy going for the Red Sox and he comes into the game with an ERA of nearly five while the Blue Jays are expected to go with J.A. Happ and his ERA for the season is just under five.  Here is a look at the contest and baseball predictions:

Probable Pitchers – Peavy vs. Happ

There is a good chance that Peavy is going to get traded although why another team would want him is in debate. Peavy is 1-8 on the season with a 4.59 ERA. He has pitched better of late but he is still 0-2 in his last three starts with a 2.84 ERA. Peavy is 3-1 in his career against the Blue Jays with a 3.19 ERA.

J.A. Happ is somehow 7-5 on the season even though his ERA is 4.91.  He has not pitched well since early in the season. His last start was early this month when the Angels shelled him for five runs in just over 4 innings.  Happ is 0-1 in his last three starts with a 8.25 ERA. He has a 2-2 career mark against the Red Sox with a 5.33 ERA.

Jays Need to Make a Trade

The Blue Jays are still in the race in the AL East but that might not be the case for long if they don’t do something. They need another hitter to fill in while Encarnacion and Lind are on the DL and they badly need another starting pitcher.

Series Notes

Before this series started on Monday it was the Blue Jays who had taken 6 of the last 10.  The last three have gone over the total. The Red Sox have taken six of the last 10 at home in the series with four of the last six going under the total.

Baseball Predictions

This has all the looks of a high scoring game as the numbers for Peavy and Happ on the season are really poor. We’ll look for this game to go over the total.
