This week’s game between the No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels (4-0, 2-0) and the Florida Gators (4-0, 2-0) has the makings of a pivotal SEC game as both teams enter this week undefeated. The SEC’s top passer, Chad Kelly (1,219 yards, 10 TDs) is a player to watch in this matchup. It will begin Saturday, Oct 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Florida barely got past Tennessee 28-27 last week. Antonio Callaway had a big game in the win, registering five receptions for 112 yards and one TD. Brandon Powell added 64 receiving yards and a TD on five receptions. Mississippi managed to get the win as well, beating Vanderbilt 27-16 in its matchup. Jaylen Walton had an outstanding performance on the ground for the Rebels, rushing for 133 yards and one TD on 21 carries. Laquon Treadwell also had a big day, contributing 135 receiving yards on eight receptions.
The odds are even for this game and the Over/Under (O/U) is unavailable at the moment.
Heading into Week 5 of the college football season, the Gators are 4-0 Straight Up (SU) and 3-1 Against The Spread (ATS). One of the keys to the game will be whether the Rebels can protect the quarterback against Florida’s aggressive pass rush. The defense ranks sixth in the nation in sacks with 3.8 per game. Based on Mississippi’s average time of possession of 25:37 per game which ranks 119th in the nation, look for the Gators to control the clock.
On the other side, the Rebels have a record of 3-1 ATS and 4-0 SU. They sport the second-ranked scoring offense in the country, averaging 54.8 points per game. The Rebels only give up 19.2 points per game and will be pushing their defense to climb even higher in the rankings. The Rebels pass defense makes opponents rearn every yard, allowing just 9.4 yards per pass. The Gators need to make smart throws against the opportunistic Rebels. The defense ranks 10th in the country in interceptions with 1.8 per game.
Predictions: SU Winner – Ole Miss, ATS Winner – Ole Miss
