Tyrone Owens (93 rushing yards on 15 attempts, two TDs) led the ground attack in the loss while Delane Hart-Johnson (five receptions, 83 yards, one TD) and Elijah Lilly (three catches, 57 yards) handled the receiving duties.
UNLV just lost a 27-20 game to Arkansas State. The defense allowed the Red Wolves to run for 197 yards on 36 rush attempts, along with one rushing TD. Marcel Murray had a solid showing, recording 95 rushing yards and a score on eight attempts for Arkansas State. For UNLV, Armani Rogers completed five-of-21 passes for 23 yards and three interceptions. Rogers (181 rushing yards on 26 attempts, one TD) and Lexington Thomas (82 yards on 18 carries, one TD) spearheaded the ground game in the defeat as Evan Owens (one receptions, 1 yards) and Brandon Presley (one catch, five yards) led all UNLV pass-catchers.
New Mexico has run the ball on 64.1 percent of its offensive possessions this year while UNLV has an overall rush percentage of 71.9 percent. The Lobos have rushed for 201 yards/game and have 11 touchdowns via handoffs this year. The Rebels are averaging 337 rushing yards per game and have 13 total rush TDs.
