Hoping to extend their flawless record, the No. 4 Utah Utes (5-0) travel to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils (4-2). The Pac-12’s third-leading passer, Mike Bercovici (1,604 yards, 14 TDs), will be featured in this game. It will begin Saturday, Oct 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
In last week’s matchup, Utah defeated California 30-24. Devontae Booker had a great game running the ball in the victory, rushing 34 times for 222 yards and two TDs. Arizona State was victorious in last week’s performance as well, easily getting past Colorado 48-23. Tim White had a huge game for the Sun Devils, pulling in seven receptions for 144 yards and two TDs.
Utah is a six-point favorite against the Sun Devils.
Sitting at 5-0 Straight Up (SU) and 3-2 Against The Spread (ATS), the Utes will look to improve heading into Week 7. An important aspect of the game will be if the Sun Devils can fend off Utah’s ability to take the ball away. The Utes currently rank seventh in the nation with 2.8 turnovers per game. The Utes hope to continue the trend of torching Arizona State’s defense during the second quarter, when they allow 10.3 points per game.
Over on the other sideline, the Sun Devils haven’t fared well ATS, sitting at 2-4. However, they are 4-2 SU this season. Arizona State’s game plan centers around passing the football. The Sun Devils pass 38.7 times per game. The Sun Devils may be aware that the floodgates tend to open on the Utes during the fourth quarter, when they allow 8.8 points per game. For the Utes, special teams is an area in need of improvement. Their 126.5 return yards allowed per game rank amongst the worst in the country.
