The Texas State Bobcats (+7) are heading east to face their conference nemesis Georgia State Panthers at Parker H. Petit Field at Georgia State Stadium. Kickoff for this showdown is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET and ESPN+ will broadcast the action.

Texas State Bobcats at Georgia State Panthers Betting Preview

In this Saturday Sun Belt game, Georgia State is labeled as the favorite and is currently giving up 7 points. The Bobcats are also receiving +210 moneyline odds while the Panthers are -270. On the offensive side of the ball, Willie Jones III completed just nine passes on 18 attempts for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Jones III (110 yards on 19 rush attempts, one TD) also spearheaded the ground attack in the win and was complemented by Robert Brown, Jr. (95 yards on 17 carries). Jeremiah Haydel (two receptions, 58 yards, one TD) and Javen Banks (two catches, 30 yards, one TD) handled the receiving duties.

Georgia State narrowly dropped a 37-34 game to Coastal Carolina. The team’s defensive unit let the Chanticleers kill the clock by running for 251 yards on 48 rush attempts, including three rush TDs. Torrance Marable was a force to be reckoned with, putting up 128 rushing yards and a score on 12 attempts, along with 48 yards on one catch for Coastal Carolina. For Georgia State, Dan Ellington completed 14-of-25 passes for 231 yards and one touchdown. Seth Paige (59 rushing yards on 12 attempts, one TD) and Tra Barnett (161 yards on 11 carries, two TDs) mounted the ground game in the defeat while Penny Hart (six receptions, 118 yards, one TD) and Cornelius McCoy (three catches, 45 yards) led the receiving attack.

Each squad has a remarkably similar (57-43) run-pass ratio on the season. The Bobcats have rushed for 143 yards/game (including 129 per game against Sun Belt opponents) and have nine touchdowns via handoffs this year. The Panthers are logging 163 rushing yards per game (209 in conference) and have 15 total rush TDs.
