The Terrapins will be looking for a similar result after beating the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens in their last matchup, 73-67. Getting to the charity stripe was one of Maryland’s largest strengths. They made 30 trips to the line, while Delaware went just 11 times. With 19 points on 8-for-15 shooting, Jalen Smith was Maryland’s leading scorer.

In the Midshipmen’s last outing, they lost big to the Old Dominion Monarchs, 67-44. Old Dominion’s 10.6 turnover percentage was their biggest advantage over Navy, who had a mark of 18.0. With eight points and 10 rebounds, Navy’s John Carter Jr. had a solid game.

Half-court execution will be critical when a pair of the NCAA’s slowest-paced teams go head-to-head. Navy ranks 321st in possessions per game (66.2) and Maryland is 320th (66.2) dating back to last season. Moreover, the upper-echelon offense of the Terrapins ranks 56th in effective field goal percentage (0.541), while the Midshipmen have been 83rd-worst in the NCAA at effective field goal percentage allowed (0.525).
