College football fans were certainly treated to some spectacular plays throughout the first six weeks of the season but looking back now, there is no doubt that this past week set a new standard for the epic. Here is a quick recap of the craziest plays we saw in Week 7 of the college football season.
Michigan State Blocked Punt Return Touchdown
It’s hard to imagine a more crushing scenario for Michigan fans then leading a game against their biggest rival by two points in the dying seconds of regulation. They ended up giving up a fumble return for a touchdown with no time left on the clock to lose and it’s scary to think that is actually what happened in their 27-23 loss to Michigan State.
The Wolverines had a 23-21 lead in the dying seconds when the punt team ran out on the field in the final seconds to ice the game, and in a matter of moments they watched their punter fumble a snap and have the ball returned the other way for the winning touchdown. There is no doubt that we have seen some pretty crazy moments already this college football season but nothing can top what happened to Michigan in its loss to the Spartans.
Chris Owusu’s Catch Of The Year Favorite
It’s incredible that Chris Owusu’s epic catch of the year candidate isn’t even the craziest play from Week 7 of the college football season. That is the case based on what happened in the Michigan game. That doesn’t take anything away from Owusu’s catch though, as it was immediately talked about as one of the most incredible grabs of all-time.
The catch came on a crazy reverse-pass in which Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan aired it out 41 yards to the endzone as Owusu reached around a defender’s back in order to make the grab. He then managed to hang on to the football all the way to the ground despite that the defender fell down on top of him. The impact of the fall alone should have been enough to knock the ball out of Owusu’s hands but he managed to hold on for the touchdown and one of the greatest catches of all-time.

Corey Coleman’s Incredible Juke Moves
Baylor’s junior wide receiver Corey Coleman has been dominant this season with 41 receptions for 877 yards and a ridiculous 16 touchdowns already. He put on a show again in the Bears’ 62-38 win over West Virginia in which he had 10 catches for 199 yards and three touchdowns.
The highlight of that game was Coleman’s incredible catch and juke move that would have probably been the Highlight of the Night on most days but was somewhat overshadowed this past weekend. Coleman is on pace to break the NCAA FBS single-season record of 27 touchdown catches in a season and there is no sign of him slowing down.

LSU Fake Field Goal
The LSU Tigers did everything they could to pull out the 35-28 win over Florida over the weekend and that included an impressive fake field goal for a touchdown. Kicker Louis Domingue lined up with the game tied 28-28 in the fourth quarter knowing that his play could make the difference in the game. He admitted afterwards that he blacked out in the middle of the play.
Fortunately for LSU, Domingue made the catch and ran it in to the end zone for the deciding score and the Tigers pulled out the victory on another gutsy play call by Les Miles that was executed to perfection.

Kenneth Scott’s One-Handed Catch
Coleman wasn’t the only receiver that put on a show this past weekend as Utah’s Kenneth Scott had five catches for 116 yards and a touchdown including a spectacular one-handed catch in the rain that could have been the best play of the weekend in most weeks.
Week 7 was absolutely loaded with crazy plays so Scott’s catch wasn’t talked about nearly enough put the video evidence is there and it is a pretty incredible grab by the senior receiver.
