The Baltimore Ravens are preparing to welcome their AFC North nemesis Cincinnati Bengals to M&T Bank Stadium. CBS is scheduled to have the TV rights and this early afternoon game gets underway at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview
The Bengals have gained 1.0 unit so far in 2018 and are 4-5 against the spread (ATS). The team’s posted an O/U record of 6-3. The Ravens have lost 2.5 units for moneyline bettors this season. They’re 4-5 ATS and own an O/U record of 3-6.
The Bengals are 5-4 straight up (SU), including 1-1 SU against AFC North opponents. The Ravens are 4-5 SU overall and 1-3 SU against divisional foes.
The Bengals are reeling from a 51-14 loss to New Orleans last week. Andy Dalton completed 12 passes for just 153 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Joe Mixon (61 rushing yards on 11 attempts) spearheaded the ground attack while Tyler Boyd (three receptions, 65 yards) and C.J. Uzomah (three catches, 23 yards) handled the receiving duties in the defeat.
A couple of weeks ago in Week 9, Pittsburgh knocked off this Baltimore crew by a score of 23-16. The Ravens defense allowed the Steelers to run for 113 yards on 27 rush attempts, along with one rushing TD. James Conner shredded the defense, putting up 107 rushing yards on 24 attempts, along with 56 yards and a score on seven catches for Pittsburgh. For Baltimore, Joe Flacco completed 23-of-37 passes for 206 yards. Alex Collins (35 rushing yards on nine attempts, one TD) handled the running game as Willie Snead IV (seven receptions, 58 yards) and Javorius Allen (five catches, eight yards) led the receiving attack in the loss.
Each squad sports a remarkably similar (63-37 pass-to-run ratio on the season. The Bengals have run for 95 yards per game (including 85 per game against North opponents) and have eight touchdowns on the ground this year. The Ravens are putting up 93 rushing yards per game (85 in conference) and have 11 total rush TDs.
The Bengals offense has averaged 260 yards through the air overall (247 per game against conference opposition) and has 18 passing scores so far. The Ravens have recorded 284 pass yards per game (313.8 in the AFC) and have 13 total pass TDs.
Defensively, Cincinnati has allowed 141 rush yards and 323 pass yards per game. The Baltimore defense has given up 224.9 yards per game to opposing passers and 99.8 yards per game on the ground. The Ravens are giving up an adjusted net yards per pass attempt (ANY/A) of only 5.32 to opponents, while the Bengals have allowed a 7.17 ANY/A.
Offensively, Dalton is up to 1,975 passing yards on the year. He’s completed 63 percent of his 278 attempts with 16 passing scores and 10 interceptions. Dalton has a 5.77 adjusted net yards per pass attempt, including 6.05 over the last two games.
Joe Mixon, Tyler Boyd and A.J. Green have combined to account for 500 total yards and four touchdowns over the last couple of outings.
Joe Flacco has completed 210-of-340 passes for 2,273 yards, 11 TDs and four INTs for Baltimore. His ANY/A stands at 6.35 for the year and 3.75 across his past two outings.
Similar to the Bengals, expect a balanced attack offensively from Baltimore this Sunday. Willie Snead IV, Alex Collins and Mark Andrews have collectively accounted for 295 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns over the last two outings.
