The Rainbow Warriors are hoping for a better outcome after their 79-64 loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs in their last game. One of Fresno State’s biggest advantages was their ability to convert at the free throw line. They were 16-19 (84.2 percent), while the Rainbow Warriors were 12-15 (80.0 percent). Hawaii’s Zigmars Raimo had a good game, contributing 13 points and five rebounds.

In the Bruins’ previous outing, they fell to the No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels, 94-78. North Carolina’s 7.3 turnover percentage was their biggest advantage over UCLA, who had a mark of 15.6. The Tar Heels’ mark was better than their season average of 15.0. UCLA’s Kris Wilkes had a good performance, leading both teams in scoring with 22 points on 7-for-10 shooting.

It will be a showdown of opposite tempos as the fast-paced Bruins will look to push the more half-court-oriented Rainbow Warriors. Dating back to last season, the Bruins rank 40th in possessions per game while the Rainbow Warriors are 255th.
