Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

In their first of four head-to-head meetings this season, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Winnipeg Jets collide at Bell MTS Place. NBC Sports Chicago will broadcast this divisional matchup, and the action gets underway at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 29.

Chicago Blackhawks at Winnipeg Jets Odds

With a -215 moneyline, Winnipeg enters the contest as the substantial favorite. The line for Chicago sits at +180 and the Over/Under (O/U) is set at 6 goals. The line for betting the total stands at -120 for the over and even money (+100) for the under.

The Jets are 13-10 straight up (SU) and have not been kind to moneyline bettors (to the tune of -0.5 units) thus far. That early-season winning percentage is a regression from the 52-30 record that the team posted during last year’s regular season campaign. Among the team’s 23 games this season, nine have gone under the total, while nine have gone over and four have pushed. The team’s 8-5 SU at home this season.

Winnipeg currently has the third-best power-play unit in the NHL, as it’s found the net on 29.6 percent of their extra-man opportunities this season. On the other hand, its penalty kill is rated 10th overall, and it’s successfully killed off 81.8 percent of all penalties.

Winnipeg, as a collective unit, has been penalized 4.4 times per game overall this season, and 3.2 per game over its last five games home outings. The team has had to kill penalties for just 6.4 minutes per contest over its last five home games.

Averaging 27.7 saves per game with a .907 save percentage, Connor Hellebuyck (nine wins, nine losses, and one OT loss) has been the primary option in goal for the Jets this year. If head coach Paul Maurice chooses to give him a rest, however, the team might turn to Laurent Brossoit (4-2-2 record, .937 save percentage, 2.05 goals against average).

Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele will both lead the offensive attack for the Jets. Wheeler (29 points) has produced four goals and 25 assists and has recorded multiple points on seven separate occasions this year. Scheifele has 13 goals and 13 assists to his name and has notched a point in 15 contests.

Chicago has lost 7.3 units for bettors taking the moneyline thus far and is currently 9-16 straight up (SU). Through 25 regular season outings, 12 of its games have gone over the total, while 11 have gone under the total and just two have pushed. As the away team so far, Chicago is 4-9 SU.

Chicago has converted on just 12.3 percent of its power play chances this year, a mark that’s ranked 32nd in the NHL. On the other hand, its penalty kill unit is ranked 29th overall and it’s successfully killed off 74.3 percent of all penalties.

Chicago’s skaters have been penalized only 3.2 times per game this season, 3.2 per game over their last five contests total, and 3.2 per game over their last five on the road. The team’s been forced to stave off opponent power plays just 5.5 minutes per game over their last 10 outings.

Corey Crawford (.907 save percentage and 2.98 goals against average) has been the main option in goal for Chicago. Crawford is averaging 27.8 saves per game and owns a 5-10-1 record.

Leading the offensive push for the visiting Blackhawks will be Patrick Kane (13 goals, 15 assists) and Jonathan Toews (11 goals, 10 assists).
