Auburn Tigers vs. UAB Blazers Betting Prediction

In the Tigers’ last outing, they blew out the South Alabama Jaguars, 101-58. The Tigers had a much better turnover percentage (14.0 vs. 28.3) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (50.0 vs. 25.8). With 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting, Jared Harper led Auburn in scoring.

The Blazers defeated the Mercer Bears in their last game, 75-67. The Blazers had a much better free throw rate (0.537 vs. 0.322) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (37.8 vs. 25.6). With 12 points and five assists, Zack Bryant played well for UAB.

The Tigers won the only contest against the Blazers last season, 85-80. The Tigers had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (38.9 vs. 30.0) and had a better turnover percentage (11.1 vs. 11.9).

This has potential to be a sloppy game for the offense of UAB. Since last season, UAB ranks 336th in the NCAA in ball protection (turnover percentage of 19.8 percent), while the disruptive defense of Auburn has forced the most turnovers in the NCAA (22.7 percent). Furthermore, the Tigers’ defense should have an edge in terms of effective field goal percentage. They rank 55th in the NCAA with an effective field goal percentage allowed of 0.491, while the Blazers’ offense ranks 272nd in effective field goal percentage (0.534).
