Christmas came early for the Gronks last week when both guys nailed their Bulletproof Picks for the first time this season. Chris has been on fire over the last eight weeks, going 7-1. However, last week’s picks didn’t go down without some drama.
“I’m not going to lie,” Glenn said. “Both our Bulletproof Picks should have been losses. Both came down to the last play and we both ended up winning.”
Glenn hit with the over in last week’s Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers game. The Chargers scored a touchdown with four seconds left. Chris’s pick of the Houston Texans to cover -6.5 got a late touchdown and a field goal to cover.
“I’m not mad about it,” Chris said. “It takes a lot of skill (getting the picks right). I mean, what can I say? I look at the picks and I just know. I know where the Bulletproof Picks bus wants to go next, where the party needs to be.”
Glenn takes a deep dog as a surprise in his Bulletproof pick. His reasoning is sound, but I’m going another way in The FAQ.
Chris takes the wheel of the Bulletproof Tour Bus into familiar territory and, again, I’m on the other side of the fence here.
Chris and Glenn then move onto a subject closer to their hearts, specifically a recent news story about their brother Rob Gronkowski, tight end for the New England Patriots. Former Patriots defender Damien Woody hit Twitter this week claiming that the Patriots should have traded Rob when they had the chance.
“Remember when Bill (Belichick) tried to trade Gronk to Detroit this past offseason?” Woody tweeted. “He knew he was a shell of himself.”
Woody, when pressed, doubled down.
“Bill likes to get rid of guys early (instead of) late,” Woody tweeted. “He sees him a lot more than any of us so Bill clearly knew what’s up.”
Rob has appeared in 11 games this season, catching 45 passes for 658 yards and three touchdowns. If there is a health or loss of talent issue, it makes even less sense that Rob was on the field in that final play against the Miami Dolphins two weeks ago.
Needless to say, Chris and Glenn have some thoughts on their brother, his season and Woody’s comments.
Before the show wraps up, Chris and Glenn talk about Eric Reid’s issues with the NFL, dive into their Capper’s Cup picks and roll into their favorite segment of the show, the Fan Question of the Week.
