Louisiana State Tigers vs Alabama Crimson Tide College Football Odds

The No. 4 Louisiana State Tigers (7-0, 4-0) will travel to take on the No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1, 4-1) this week in a battle between two SEC teams. The country’s leading rusher, Leonard Fournette (1,352 yards, 15 TDs), will be featured in this game for LSU. It will air Saturday, Nov 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

In its last game before the bye, Alabama defeated Tennessee 19-14. O.J. Howard had a good performance in the victory, grabbing seven receptions for 55 yards. Calvin Ridley had 88 receiving yards on seven catches. LSU was victorious in its game before the bye as well, winning big over Western Kentucky 48-20. Travin Dural had a great game for the Tigers, pulling in five receptions for 132 yards and one TD. Leonard Fournette also had a great game with 150 rushing yards and a TD on 26 carries.

The Tigers are a seven-point underdog against the Crimson Tide and the Over/Under (O/U) for the matchup is unavailable currently.

Even with a positive Straight Up (SU) record of 7-1, the Crimson Tide have not been an excellent bet so far this year, going 3-5 Against The Spread (ATS). In their five most recent matchups, the Crimson Tide went 5-0 SU and 2-3 ATS. When the Crimson Tide pass the ball, they do so at a high percentage. They complete passes 65.8% of the time they throw, 21st in the nation. Crossing over to the defensive side of the ball, the Crimson Tide look to have a distinct advantage in certain spots. Alabama’s secondary could have an edge on the Tigers and their struggling passing game. LSU averages 156.9 yards per game through the air, ranking 117th in the nation. The Crimson Tide hope to continue the trend of torching LSU’s defense during the third quarter, when it allows 9.4 points per game. Alabama’s special teams squad is a force to be reckoned with. They average 132.8 return yards per game, eighth in Division I.

In the other locker room, the Tigers head into Week 10 with records of 4-3 ATS and 7-0 SU. The defensive front seven better be ready for LSU’s bruising rushing attack which has averaged 299.0 yards on the ground over its past five games. Over the last five games, the Tigers turned it up on defense, only allowing an average of 90.6 rushing yards per game.
