No team has dominated college football like the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama has been arguably the greatest dynasty in modern college football over the last decade, winning five national championships over the last 10 seasons. It doesn’t look like Alabama is relinquishing its grip as the top team in the land any time soon either. Nick Saban has now led the Crimson Tide to four straight title game appearances, and Alabama is a prohibitive favorite to make it five in a row next season according to online sportsbook BetDSI.

When you consider what it takes to make it to a national championship game, it’s incredible that Alabama is a moderate favorite to get to the title game next year too. There are 130 FBS teams in the country, and exactly half of those are Power Five teams, so just by numbers alone, any one team has its work cut out for it.

However, this is Alabama. The Crimson Tide don’t rebuild, they just reload, and they finally have a quarterback they can rely on too. Tua Tagovailoa is the best quarterback that Saban has had in Tuscaloosa, and he will be returning for his junior season next year. He is likely to be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, and Tagovailoa is going to ensure this team is the frontrunner to win the national championship next year too.
Although the Crimson Tide are set to lose some starters, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, this is a program that just continues to plug in new five-stars to replace the old five-stars that have moved onto the NFL. Quinnen Williams, Raekwon Williams, and Christian Miller are all likely to be in the NFL, but most of a fantastic secondary looks set to return. The back-ups along the defensive line should be able to fill in nicely too, especially with another eight months of training and conditioning.
The key to winning in college football is recruiting, and the Crimson Tide are once again tops in that department too. Alabama has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation right now, and Saban is fantastic at bringing in new talents and developing them into his newest crop of superstars.
Alabama does have one of the toughest schedules in the country, but its top non-conference opponent is not a tough test like we have seen in the past. The Crimson Tide play Duke in their season opener in Atlanta, and they have minnows like New Mexico State, Southern Miss, and Western Carolina rounding out the non-conference slate. They get to host LSU too, but road games against Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Auburn might be tricky.
The CFP selection committee has shown they are more than willing to take a one-loss Alabama, and there is a path to the playoff for the Crimson Tide even if they finish with two losses but win the SEC. Saban is the best coach when given weeks to prepare for an opponent, and that is likely to make Alabama a favorite in the CFP Semifinals no matter who they face. This is a decent amount of juice, but betting Alabama to make its fifth straight appearance in the CFP Championship Game is the right play.
