The shooting guard position isn’t the deepest on the waiver wire but if you own Kevin Durant or Brad Beal and are all of the sudden looking for options, there are at least a handful of players that you might want to consider grabbing. Here is a look at the top shooting guard options that could still be available on your waiver wire right now.
Evan Fournier
Orlando Magic
There is a good chance that if he hasn’t been picked up to this point, somebody in your league is grabbing the 23-year-old right now. Fournier has been absolutely dominant to this point averaging 18.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game this season. The Magic love what they have seen from Fournier and as long as he continues to produce at a high level, they will continue to give him the opportunity to lead their offense. A lot of people took a flier on Mario Hezonja, who was a lottery pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He’s a very confident shooting and a lot of fantasy GM’s figured he’d be getting minutes on the win. However, Fournier has looked so good that he’s already taken control of the job. This is a Magic team that’s on the rise with all sorts of talent across the board and head coach Scott Skiles has them very focused. That being the case, it’s likely that Fournier’s production continues. His ability to contribute across the board makes him that much better of an option, so make sure you grab him while he is still available.
Nik Stauskas
Philadelphia 76ers
Stauskas might never become an NBA superstar but he has the potential to be a star in fantasy leagues with a bigger role as a pure scorer in Philadelphia this season. Stauskas has averaged 13.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.4 three-point shots per game through his first six regular season starts for the 76ers, Even though they aren’t a team that will compete for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, Stauskas is an excellent option at the shooting guard position that is worth picking up. He was the eight pick overall in the 2014 NBA Draft and while he didn’t get much playing time with the Sacramento Kings, he should be in line for plenty of action in Philadelphia. Look for the 76ers to develop him either as a piece to keep or as a piece to move at the trade deadline. Either way, he should be a consistent source for double-digit points, a few rebounds and a healthy dose of threes.

Kent Bazemore
Atlanta Hawks
For all of the talk about Dennis Schroder and his potential to steal some minutes away from Jeff Teague, at some point the real overlooked fantasy gem has been Bazemore, who has earned a starting job in Atlanta this season. Bazemore has averaged 12.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He has also been a steady contributor from beyond the arc with an average of 1.9 threes per game. Bazemore appears to have secured his job as the Hawks’ starting shooting guard and is another overlooked contributor that is definitely worth owning. If he’s not being owned right now, you need to pick him up.
Jeremy Lamb
Charlotte Hornets
The 2012 first round pick is still just 23 years old but he appears to have found a home in Charlotte where his talents can be put to use. Lamb has averaged 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in just 21.2 minutes per game this season. If he continues to produce at the level he has to this point, then he will definitely be in line for more minutes. The Hornets have averaged 102.0 points per game so far this season, which ranks 15th in the NBA and they need more out of their back court. In his latest outing, Lamb had 18 points and a couple of threes in just 23 minutes off the bench. P.J. Hairston is currently starting but that’s just a title as evidenced by the fact that he only played eight minutes on Tuesday. Lamb doesn’t give you a ton of contribution outside of points and threes, but that’s still valuable enough to own.
