The Cleveland Indians reached the ninth inning Thursday night and were three outs away from the franchise’s first no-hitter in 38 years. However, it wasn’t to be, but it still made for a good social media experience. The Athletics also used a cool Instagram video to celebrate their series win against the Red Sox. On the other end of the spectrum, the Orioles’ Chris Davis continues his struggles, and fans are taking notice.
Trevor Bauer walked six and hit a batter in his seven hitless innings, driving his pitch count up to 117. He still received plenty of praise (speaking of which, check out the first comment on his Instagram post from earlier in the day)
Trevor Bauer has allowed 1 hit in 12 innings pitched this season. 13 strikeouts. #Indians

The Cleveland Indians are three outs way from completing a combined no-hitter. It would be their first in 38 years. #Indians

The reigning World Series champion Boston Red Sox haven’t fared well on their season-opening West Coast road trip, losing three of four to the Mariners and now three of four to the Athletics, who put together a celebratory video the city of Oakland surely enjoyed.

@spiscotty goes pop, @ramonlaureano22 bumps Major Lazer. A’s dance in Oakland.
Chris Davis is 0-for-16 this season with 10 strikeouts, piling on to a poor 2018 season. Fans are starting to boo, Davis’ struggles have gotten worse … and of course the jokes have started to fly on social media.
Chris Davis strikes out for the third time today and the boos continue in Baltimore. Really tough scene. #Orioles pic.twitter.com/hDE5l79E0I

Chris Davis so far this year: 0-16 with 10 Ks.
He’s under contract through the 2022 season.
I wish him the best, but dear lord what a catastrophe.

I found a pic of the new defensive shift against Chris Davis. Notice how there’s a player positioned everywhere he hits it… pic.twitter.com/kdgNbTgHtj
