Aho reflects on ‘unwinnable’ series
Carolina Hurricanes’ star center Sebastian Aho played a big part in his team’s double-overtime win over the Washington Capitals as he scored a shorthanded goal to cut the Caps’ lead to one in the second period. Aho said that he can believe the Canes managed to win the unwinnable series and that Washington was last year’s champion for a reason.

Seventh heaven for the Canes
The Carolina Hurricanes stepped up when they needed it the most and came out as winners in the third-longest Game 7 in history.

Captain Williams extends his NHL record
Carolina captain Justin Williams recorded a crucial assist for McGinn’s goal, which sent the Hurricanes to Round 2 and it was Williams’ 15th career points in Game 7 as now he has seven goals and eight assists in nine games.

All roads lead home
Boston Bruins were down 3-2 in their Round 1 series with the Toronto Maple Leafs and traveled to Canada knowing that they must move back series home with a victory. They managed to do it and then the Bruins beat Toronto in Game 7 to reach Round 2 where they will face Columbus Blue Jackets.
