In spite of watching the Alliance of American Football fold barely a month ago, the XFL is still making a go of it. Vince McMahon’s second shot at a minor league football league announced Monday that it had reached a broadcast deal with ABC, FOX, ESPN and FOX Sports to show its games to a national audience.

Case Keenum looking forward to working with Haskins

Case Keenum has made a career out of preparing his eventual replacement and he’ll get to work with another first round pick in 2019. After being acquired by the Washington Redskins in a trade with the Denver Broncos, Keenum watched his current team draft Dwayne Haskins out of Ohio State in the first round of April’s draft. Keenum says he’s excited to work with him.

Bucker and 49ers nowhere close on deal

Defensive lineman DeForest Buckner and the San Francisco 49ers are not even close on a contract extension. Last year Buckner recorded 12 sacks and made it to the Pro Bowl, his best year in the NFL. As a first round pick, San Francisco controls Buckner’s rights through the 2020 season after selecting his fifth-year option. He was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
